Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ralph Humphrey could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in April 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Linework auction, this work without title changed hands for USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,124.72) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ralph Humphrey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A/60-61 in September 2017 with an auction result of USD 237,500.00 (€ 201,049.69).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ralph Humphrey konnte im April 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Linework wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 3.500,00 (€ 3.124,72) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ralph Humphrey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A/60-61 im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 237.500,00 (€ 201.049,69).
