Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Phillips in New York held the auction New Now, which included the work Year by Ralph Humphrey. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 13,630.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ralph Humphrey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A/60-61 in September 2017 with an auction result of USD 237,500.00 (€ 201,049.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Year von Ralph Humphrey zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 13.630,22) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ralph Humphrey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A/60-61 im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 237.500,00 (€ 201.049,69).
