Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sem Titulo by Os Gêmeos was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 180,000.00 – 250,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 176,400.00 (€ 144,661.31). Other works by Os Gêmeos have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2015 by the work Amigo at USD 162,500.00 (€ 153,853.44).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sem Titulo von Os Gêmeos im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 180.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 176.400,00 (€ 144.661,31) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Os Gêmeos wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2015 die Arbeit Amigo mit USD 162.500,00 (€ 153.853,44).
