In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Culture sold for USD 119,700.00 (€ 102,773.25) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Melvin Edwards - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ile Ogun, Planetary, Road to Goma, Alterable [Four Works|AID1113294], which sold at auction in May this year for USD 409,500.00 (€ 384,362.68).

Für andere Arbeiten von Melvin Edwards mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ile Ogun, Planetary, Road to Goma, Alterable [Four Works|AID1113294] beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für USD 409.500,00 (€ 384.362,68) versteigert wurde.
