Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day, which included the work Bride (Deneuve) by Makoto Saito. The »bidding war« ended at USD 230,500.00 (€ 160,336.67), 15% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Makoto Saito - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Snow B.B. (No. 20130301), which sold at auction in October 2016 for HKD 3,200,000.00 (€ 376,573.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bride (Deneuve) von Makoto Saito zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 230.500,00 (€ 160.336,67) und damit 15% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Makoto Saito mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Snow B.B. (No. 20130301) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für HKD 3.200.000,00 (€ 376.573,62) versteigert wurde.
