Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Makoto Saito could be acquired at Christies in New York in November 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Afternoon Sale auction, the work White Shadow changed hands for USD 162,500.00 (€ 153,620.72) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 180,000.00 – 220,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Makoto Saito - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Snow B.B. (No. 20130301), which sold at auction in October 2016 for HKD 3,200,000.00 (€ 376,573.62).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Makoto Saito konnte im November 2016 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Afternoon Sale wechselte die Arbeit White Shadow für USD 162.500,00 (€ 153.620,72) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 180.000,00 – 220.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Makoto Saito mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Snow B.B. (No. 20130301) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für HKD 3.200.000,00 (€ 376.573,62) versteigert wurde.
