Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Truth by Makoto Saito was sold in the Contemporary Curated: Hong Kong auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in July last year. The price achieved of HKD 756,000.00 (€ 94,333.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 600,000.00 – 1,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Makoto Saito - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Snow B.B. (No. 20130301), which sold at auction in October 2016 for HKD 3,200,000.00 (€ 376,573.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Truth von Makoto Saito wurde im Juli letzten Jahres in der Auktion Contemporary Curated: Hong Kong bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 756.000,00 (€ 94.333,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 600.000,00 – 1.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Makoto Saito mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Snow B.B. (No. 20130301) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für HKD 3.200.000,00 (€ 376.573,62) versteigert wurde.
