Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The ’60S Memories Bardot (Brigitte Bardot – Silver) (Painted In 2013) by Makoto Saito was sold in the Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art auction at China Guardian in October 2021. The price achieved of HKD 1,560,000.00 (€ 173,528.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 1,300,000.00 – 1,800,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Makoto Saito - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Snow B.B. (No. 20130301), which sold at auction in October 2016 for HKD 3,200,000.00 (€ 376,573.62).
