Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Liza Lou could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Offensive/Defensive changed hands for USD 137,500.00 (€ 122,374.51) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liza Lou - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Vessel, which sold at auction in October 2010 for GBP 289,250.00 (€ 333,509.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Liza Lou konnte im Mai 2017 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wechselte die Arbeit Offensive/Defensive für USD 137.500,00 (€ 122.374,51) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Liza Lou mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Vessel beobachtet, die im Oktober 2010 für GBP 289.250,00 (€ 333.509,79) versteigert wurde.
