In February this year Bonhams held the auction Post War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Ruffles, circa 1995 by Liza Lou. The »bidding war« ended at USD 17,850.00 (€ 16,836.45), 49% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liza Lou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Vessel in October 2010 with an auction result of GBP 289,250.00 (€ 333,509.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 49 % übertroffen
Im Februar diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Post War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ruffles, circa 1995 von Liza Lou zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 17.850,00 (€ 16.836,45) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liza Lou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Vessel im Oktober 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 289.250,00 (€ 333.509,79).
