Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Chromium by Liza Lou was auctioned at Phillips in London in April 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 63,000.00 (€ 72,468.33) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Liza Lou have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Vessel in October 2010 with an auction result of GBP 289,250.00 (€ 333,509.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Chromium von Liza Lou kam im April 2021 bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 63.000,00 (€ 72.468,33) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liza Lou auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Vessel im Oktober 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 289.250,00 (€ 333.509,79).
