Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

In the Editions & Works on Paper auction, the work Memento (T. 96-367) sold for USD 27,720.00 (€ 23,995.84) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kerry James Marshall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Past Times in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 21,114,500.00 (€ 18,092,973.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kerry James Marshall erzielte im Oktober 2021 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper wurde die Arbeit Memento (T. 96-367) für USD 27.720,00 (€ 23.995,84) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kerry James Marshall erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Past Times im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.114.500,00 (€ 18.092.973,44).
