Auction result well in line with expectations

In April last year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Brownie by Kerry James Marshall. The price achieved of USD 25,200.00 (€ 23,915.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kerry James Marshall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Past Times in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 21,114,500.00 (€ 18,092,973.44).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im April letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Brownie von Kerry James Marshall zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.200,00 (€ 23.915,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kerry James Marshall erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Past Times im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.114.500,00 (€ 18.092.973,44).
