Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Maquette for Six #2 by Kenneth Snelson was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,250.00 (€ 4,671.65). Admittedly, works by Kenneth Snelson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Maquette in January 2013 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 38,648.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Maquette for Six #2 von Kenneth Snelson im September 2016 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.250,00 (€ 4.671,65) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kenneth Snelson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Maquette im Januar 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 38.648,41).
