This artwork by Kenneth Snelson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2018. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work without title sold for USD 16,250.00 (€ 13,982.10) - well above the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kenneth Snelson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Maquette, which sold at auction in January 2013 for USD 52,500.00 (€ 38,648.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 81 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kenneth Snelson erzielte im September 2018 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 16.250,00 (€ 13.982,10) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 9.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Kenneth Snelson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Maquette beobachtet, die im Januar 2013 für USD 52.500,00 (€ 38.648,41) versteigert wurde.
