In March 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work Untitled (Tanzende Derwische) by Kai Althoff. The »bidding war« ended at USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,172.07), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kai Althoff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Antonius Eremita in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 682,000.00 (€ 769,085.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im März 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Tanzende Derwische) von Kai Althoff zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.172,07) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kai Althoff erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Antonius Eremita im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 682.000,00 (€ 769.085,60).
