Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Kai Althoff achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May last year. In the Contemporary Day Auction auction, the work Ashley's sold for USD 453,600.00 (€ 422,700.59) - well above the upper estimate of USD 180,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Kai Althoff; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Antonius Eremita sold at auction in October 2018 with the realized price of GBP 682,000.00 (€ 769,085.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kai Althoff erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Ashley's für USD 453.600,00 (€ 422.700,59) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 180.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Kai Althoff; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Antonius Eremita im Oktober 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 682.000,00 (€ 769.085,60).
