Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work The Cone Concealed A Blade by Julião Sarmento for USD 16,250.00 (€ 12,005.91). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Julião Sarmento have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Emma 4 in February 2004 with an auction result of GBP 50,190.00 (€ 74,936.04).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2013 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Cone Concealed A Blade von Julião Sarmento für USD 16.250,00 (€ 12.005,91) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Julião Sarmento auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Emma 4 im Februar 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.190,00 (€ 74.936,04).
