A top price for Julião Sarmento
This artwork by Julião Sarmento achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in February 2004. In the Post War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Emma 4 sold for GBP 50,190.00 (€ 74,936.04) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. This high result makes Emma 4 the most expensive artwork by Julião Sarmento that we have observed at auctions so far.
