This artwork by Julião Sarmento achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in December 2016. In the New Now auction, the work The House with the Upstairs in It sold for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,422.35) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Julião Sarmento have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Emma 4 in February 2004 with an auction result of GBP 50,190.00 (€ 74,936.04).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 77 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Julião Sarmento erzielte im Dezember 2016 bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion New Now wurde die Arbeit The House with the Upstairs in It für GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.422,35) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Julião Sarmento auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Emma 4 im Februar 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.190,00 (€ 74.936,04).
