Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Garage by José Damasceno was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,966.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by José Damasceno - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eraser Sculpture, which sold at auction in September 2017 for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,199.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Garage von José Damasceno kam im Oktober 2008 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.966,51) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von José Damasceno mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Eraser Sculpture beobachtet, die im September 2017 für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.199,10) versteigert wurde.
