Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Diagrama Sobre Um Relevo Interior by José Damasceno for USD 15,000.00 (€ 11,024.55). This price was achieved in the auction Latin American Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 18,000.00 – 22,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by José Damasceno - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eraser Sculpture, which sold at auction in September 2017 for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,199.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2013 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Diagrama Sobre Um Relevo Interior von José Damasceno für USD 15.000,00 (€ 11.024,55) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Latin American Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 18.000,00 – 22.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von José Damasceno mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Eraser Sculpture beobachtet, die im September 2017 für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.199,10) versteigert wurde.
