Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jeremy Deller achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in October 2015. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work I Love Melancholy sold for GBP 22,500.00 (€ 31,471.88) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jeremy Deller - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Uses of Literacy, which sold at auction in June 2008 for GBP 61,250.00 (€ 77,422.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jeremy Deller erzielte im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wurde die Arbeit I Love Melancholy für GBP 22.500,00 (€ 31.471,88) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jeremy Deller mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Uses of Literacy beobachtet, die im Juni 2008 für GBP 61.250,00 (€ 77.422,05) versteigert wurde.
