In May 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day, which included the work Ingrown by Janine Antoni. The result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 13,912.08) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Janine Antoni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gnaw in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 204,000.00 (€ 218,696.40).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ingrown von Janine Antoni zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 13.912,08) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Janine Antoni erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gnaw im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 204.000,00 (€ 218.696,40).
