This artwork by Janine Antoni achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2006. In the Post War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session auction, the work Extension sold for USD 18,000.00 (€ 13,573.64) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Janine Antoni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gnaw in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 204,000.00 (€ 218,696.40).
