Sold at the upper estimate price
In September 2011 Christies in New York held the auction First OpenPost-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Umbilical by Janine Antoni. The auction ended at the price of USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,461.30), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Janine Antoni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gnaw in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 204,000.00 (€ 218,696.40).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im September 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion First OpenPost-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Umbilical von Janine Antoni zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 4.461,30) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Janine Antoni erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gnaw im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 204.000,00 (€ 218.696,40).
