Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Ingrown by Janine Antoni. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 9,467.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Janine Antoni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gnaw in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 204,000.00 (€ 218,696.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ingrown von Janine Antoni zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 9.467,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Janine Antoni erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gnaw im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 204.000,00 (€ 218.696,40).
