In November 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Day Auction, which included the work Untitled (19NSB) by James Turrell. The »bidding war« ended at USD 189,000.00 (€ 167,449.28), 26% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Turrell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Orca, Blue-Red, which sold at auction in October 2020 for GBP 302,400.00 (€ 335,789.40).

Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (19NSB) von James Turrell zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 189.000,00 (€ 167.449,28) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von James Turrell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Orca, Blue-Red beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für GBP 302.400,00 (€ 335.789,40) versteigert wurde.
