The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,190.00 (€ 7,533.11), 64% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Turrell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orca, Blue-Red in October 2020 with an auction result of GBP 302,400.00 (€ 335,789.40).

Die Arbeit Image Stone: Moon Side von James Turrell wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.190,00 (€ 7.533,11) und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Turrell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orca, Blue-Red im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 302.400,00 (€ 335.789,40).
