A top price for James Turrell
In October 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Orca, Blue-Red by James Turrell. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 302,400.00 (€ 335,789.40), 68% above the upper estimate. This high result makes Orca, Blue-Red the most expensive artwork by James Turrell that we have observed at auctions so far.
