Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (XC) by James Turrell was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November last year. The price achieved of USD 52,920.00 (€ 51,264.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by James Turrell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Orca, Blue-Red in October 2020 with an auction result of GBP 302,400.00 (€ 335,789.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (XC) von James Turrell kam im November letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 52.920,00 (€ 51.264,17) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Turrell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Orca, Blue-Red im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 302.400,00 (€ 335.789,40).
