Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hologram (III 01) by James Turrell was sold in the Contemporary Discoveries auction at Sothebys in London in May last year. The price achieved of GBP 25,200.00 (€ 29,645.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Turrell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orca, Blue-Red in October 2020 with an auction result of GBP 302,400.00 (€ 335,789.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Hologram (III 01) von James Turrell wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Contemporary Discoveries bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 25.200,00 (€ 29.645,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Turrell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orca, Blue-Red im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 302.400,00 (€ 335.789,40).
