It achieved a price of GBP 10,080.00 (€ 12,082.15), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 44%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Turrell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orca, Blue-Red in October 2020 with an auction result of GBP 302,400.00 (€ 335,789.40).

Die Arbeit B2: Alta, from First Light von James Turrell kam im Januar letzten Jahres bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 10.080,00 (€ 12.082,15) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 44%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Turrell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orca, Blue-Red im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 302.400,00 (€ 335.789,40).
