Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work American Medical Association by Ida Applebroog was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,912.00 (€ 1,536.85). Admittedly, works by Ida Applebroog have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Knife) in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 12,500.00 (€ 8,029.29).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit American Medical Association von Ida Applebroog im Februar 2004 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.912,00 (€ 1.536,85) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ida Applebroog auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Knife) im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 8.029,29).
