Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2010 Phillips in New York held the auction 80s, which included the work Gulf + Western Plaza by Ida Applebroog. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,250.00 (€ 1,695.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ida Applebroog have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Knife) in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 12,500.00 (€ 8,029.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2010 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 80s durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gulf + Western Plaza von Ida Applebroog zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.250,00 (€ 1.695,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ida Applebroog auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Knife) im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 8.029,29).
