Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Executive Tower, West Plaza by Ida Applebroog for USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,159.45). This price was achieved in the auction A Graphic Dialogue: Prints from the Collection of Lois B. Torf at Christies and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ida Applebroog - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Knife), which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 12,500.00 (€ 8,029.29).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Executive Tower, West Plaza von Ida Applebroog für USD 2.500,00 (€ 2.159,45) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion A Graphic Dialogue: Prints from the Collection of Lois B. Torf bei Christies erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ida Applebroog mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Knife) beobachtet, die im April 2008 für USD 12.500,00 (€ 8.029,29) versteigert wurde.
