Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Inheritance by Gertrude Abercrombie was sold in the Post-War to Present auction at Christies in London in September this year. The price achieved of USD 126,000.00 (€ 119,047.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gertrude Abercrombie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Giraffe, which sold at auction in May 2021 for USD 365,400.00 (€ 299,655.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Inheritance von Gertrude Abercrombie wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War to Present bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 126.000,00 (€ 119.047,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Gertrude Abercrombie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Giraffe beobachtet, die im Mai 2021 für USD 365.400,00 (€ 299.655,57) versteigert wurde.
