Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work Self Portrait by Gertrude Abercrombie. The price achieved of USD 63,000.00 (€ 54,418.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gertrude Abercrombie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Giraffe in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 365,400.00 (€ 299,655.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self Portrait von Gertrude Abercrombie zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 63.000,00 (€ 54.418,24) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gertrude Abercrombie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Giraffe im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 365.400,00 (€ 299.655,57).
