This artwork by Gertrude Abercrombie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in November 2021. In the American Art auction, the work Hand and Tent sold for USD 163,800.00 (€ 145,122.71) - well above the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gertrude Abercrombie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Giraffe, which sold at auction in May 2021 for USD 365,400.00 (€ 299,655.57).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Gertrude Abercrombie erzielte im November 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art wurde die Arbeit Hand and Tent für USD 163.800,00 (€ 145.122,71) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gertrude Abercrombie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Giraffe beobachtet, die im Mai 2021 für USD 365.400,00 (€ 299.655,57) versteigert wurde.
