The work The Crying Reader (After Jean-Honoré Fragonard) by Francesco Vezzoli was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2015. The »bidding war« ended at USD 32,500.00 (€ 30,770.69), 30% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Francesco Vezzoli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Veruschka in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 156,500.00 (€ 224,744.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 30 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Crying Reader (After Jean-Honoré Fragonard) von Francesco Vezzoli wurde im November 2015 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 30.770,69) und damit 30% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francesco Vezzoli auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Veruschka im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 156.500,00 (€ 224.744,30).
