Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Crying Portrait Of Wilhelmina As A Renaissance Madonna With Holy Child (After Leonardo) by Francesco Vezzoli. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 38,954.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Francesco Vezzoli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Veruschka in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 156,500.00 (€ 224,744.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Crying Portrait Of Wilhelmina As A Renaissance Madonna With Holy Child (After Leonardo) von Francesco Vezzoli zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 38.954,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francesco Vezzoli auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Veruschka im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 156.500,00 (€ 224.744,30).
