Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Sonoma by Christopher Wilmarth was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,500.00 (€ 26,379.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Christopher Wilmarth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Street Leaf #4 in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 229,000.00 (€ 155,909.59).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Sonoma von Christopher Wilmarth wurde im März 2018 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 26.379,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
