Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Second Roebling #2 by Christopher Wilmarth was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 20,160.00 (€ 16,532.72) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Christopher Wilmarth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Street Leaf #4 in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 229,000.00 (€ 155,909.59).
