The result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 17,208.74) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Christopher Wilmarth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Street Leaf #4 in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 229,000.00 (€ 155,909.59).

Die Arbeit Schottland's Second Slope von Christopher Wilmarth wurde im September 2018 in der Auktion Post-War to Present bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 17.208,74) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Christopher Wilmarth auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Street Leaf #4 im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 229.000,00 (€ 155.909,59).
