Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Doors Give Reasons by Christopher Wilmarth for USD 25,000.00 (€ 20,441.54). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Featuring The Collection of Morton and Barbara Mandel at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Christopher Wilmarth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Street Leaf #4 in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 229,000.00 (€ 155,909.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Doors Give Reasons von Christopher Wilmarth für USD 25.000,00 (€ 20.441,54) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Featuring The Collection of Morton and Barbara Mandel bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Christopher Wilmarth auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Street Leaf #4 im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 229.000,00 (€ 155.909,59).
