Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
The work Night of Ice by Christopher Brown was worth USD 15,120.00 (€ 14,090.02) to a buyer in May last year. This price was achieved in the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 3,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Christopher Brown - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Film Study, which sold at auction in September 2007 for USD 46,000.00 (€ 32,351.08).

Die Arbeit Night of Ice von Christopher Brown war einem Käufer im Mai letzten Jahres USD 15.120,00 (€ 14.090,02) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Christopher Brown mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Film Study beobachtet, die im September 2007 für USD 46.000,00 (€ 32.351,08) versteigert wurde.
