Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Christopher Brown achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in April last year. In the Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art auction, the work Film, 1995 sold for USD 24,225.00 (€ 22,990.41) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Christopher Brown; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Film Study sold at auction in September 2007 with the realized price of USD 46,000.00 (€ 32,351.08).

Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Christopher Brown; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Film Study im September 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 46.000,00 (€ 32.351,08).
