In May 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included this untitled work by Carol Bove. The result of USD 150,000.00 (€ 128,534.70) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carol Bove - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Young Lovers, which sold at auction in September 2018 for USD 308,000.00 (€ 265,014.63).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Carol Bove zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 150.000,00 (€ 128.534,70) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Carol Bove mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Young Lovers beobachtet, die im September 2018 für USD 308.000,00 (€ 265.014,63) versteigert wurde.
