Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Carlo Maria Mariani could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work In Coronato (The Crowning) changed hands for USD 250.00 (€ 220.61) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carlo Maria Mariani achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orfeo in May 2008 with an auction result of EUR 66,250.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Carlo Maria Mariani konnte im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Prints & Multiples wechselte die Arbeit In Coronato (The Crowning) für USD 250,00 (€ 220,61) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carlo Maria Mariani erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orfeo im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 66.250,00.
