Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Transfiguration by Carlo Maria Mariani was sold in the Ancient to Modern Art from the Mougins Museum of Classical Art, Part I auction at Christies in London in December this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,190.00 (€ 9,434.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Carlo Maria Mariani have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Orfeo in May 2008 with an auction result of EUR 66,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Transfiguration von Carlo Maria Mariani wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion Ancient to Modern Art from the Mougins Museum of Classical Art, Part I bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.190,00 (€ 9.434,57) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carlo Maria Mariani auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Orfeo im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 66.250,00.
